I will contact each and every one of you directly by the end of this week to inform you whether of not your story will be included in the third issue.
I know some of you have been waiting a long time, and I apologize. I had to wait until the submission deadline passed before making any final decisions. This seems to me to be the fairest way to proceed. The thing is, as the deadline grew closer we received a mini-avalanche of submissions.
I now have a large number of great stories to choose from. My problem is, now that I'm working with a budget, that I no longer can include all the great stories that we received like we did for the first two issues. (That isn't to say that we published every story we got; there were some real stinkers that were rejected, mostly from some guy named Carlucci.) I have to pick and choose, making sure that the issue is balanced: can't have too many Westerns, have to make sure there are enough monkeys, etc.
I have some hard decisions to make. Luckily, I have my trusty bottle of bourbon to help me make them.
